After budget cuts, Indiana baby denied life-saving treatment

Indiana- Republican Governor Mitch Daniels, who is, by the way eying a possible 2012 presidential run, cut funding for the Family Social Services Administration which is denying a baby life-saving surgery. The state health care agency won't pay for six-month, old Seth Petreikis to have corrective surgery for DiGeorge syndrome, which keeps him from developing a thymus, an infection fighting glandular organ. He needs a transplant that's been pioneered by a specialist at Duke University in North Carolina. 58 of the 60 children who've received the surgery have survived.
